Finland is one of the most research intensive countries in the world. A Unique feature of Otaniemi is the intense cooperation between companies and research organizations. Much of this consortium-based R&D is eligible for substantial public sector financial support, up to 50% and more. Finnish researchers are on the cutting edge of development in a number of fields, including of course ICT, nano technologies, environmental technologies, neural networks, low-temperature physics, brain research, life sciences, forestry and forest product development.
