Technology Transfer

Aalto University commercializes future technologies and research provides higher education and carries out effective technology development. To promote these aims Aalto University has created Aalto Center for Entrepreneurship (ACE) providing innovation and start-up services. ACE works closely with the faculties at Aalto University and other Otaniemi actors to successfully commercialize the science and research-based knowledge generated within Aalto.

VTT Ventures’ mission is to maximize the commercial value of intellectual property generated within VTT. The unit promotes technology entrepreneurship with VTT and works closely with all VTT researchers and research units to evaluate the commercial potential of its innovations and spin them into successful ventures. VTT Ventures spins off 10-20 new ventures each year and invests itself in those cases which have the potential to attract international risk capital.

The Foundation for Finnish Inventions supports and promotes Finnish invention activity and the development and exploitation of inventions. The Foundation’s services consist of consultancy, evaluation of inventions, funding product development, protection and commercialization of inventions as well as general promotional activities for marketing Finnish inventions.
