Theme 2009 - Finland's solution for economic turnaround
Finland has been well placed in Innovation and Business environment rankings*, but the economic crisis has not left Finland untouched. Otaniemi Forum is looking for a solution for the economic turnaround.
The event will be hosted by Kristiina Helenius, Managing Director of AmCham Finland. Kristiina Helenius started as AmCham Finland’s Managing Director in July 2007. She manages and develops the Chamber under the guidance of the Board of Directors. Between 2001 and 2007 Kristiina was Finland’s official spokesperson in Washington, D.C., and created a pioneering concept of message and brand management for Finland in the United States.

Mr. Rantala is also founder of the global industry alliance Mobile Entertainment Forum (MEF), and worked as Executive Director for it its first year after which hired his successor to work in London, who runs it still. Some of the employers and business partners from 12 years of international mobile business career include Nokia, TeliaSonera, Ericsson, OpenMobile, dotMobi, BrandWorxx and British Telecom. He is known as a fore speaker for open industry alliances and social media like MobileMonday, RosettaNet, MEF and Finnish Mobile Association.
Mr. Rantala holds a BBA from Haaga-Helia, University of Applied Sciences and minor examination from University of Art and Design Helsinki and Helsinki University of Technology.

Jaakko Pellosniemi M.Sc. (Tech) is the CEO of Mobidiag. He oversees the Company's growth and strategic direction. Mr. Pellosniemi has innovated the Prove-it™ diagnostics concept by combining molecular biology, microarrays, and biobank software into a leading clinical diagnostics solution.
Ismo Rantala, Co-founder and Managing Director of Finnish Mobile Association. Previously the Co-Founder and Director of EMEA regions of MobileMonday, expanding its operations from 2 to 72 locations in all continents. MobileMonday was spinoff from Mr. Rantala´s founded mobile- and business process consultancy company Mobile-Zoom. Mr. Rantala led M-Z for 5 years and created automated business processes for and with companies such as Nokia, TeliaSonera and Nordea Bank.
Mikko Kalhama has been CEO of Design Forum Finland since 2006. Previously Mr. Kalhama has worked as a producer and in other executive positions in the art industry, ICT companies and the University of Art and Design. In his current position his focus is on bringing design’s viewpoint and role into the community and Finnish innovation politics.
Ludovic Gaudé is a M.Sc. and has an MBA from INSEAD. He is an entrepreneur at heart and loves to explore unfamiliar grounds. With Nokia from 1993 to 2007, he led the expansion of the GSM footprint in China and Latin America, and then ran Nokia’s Vodafone business. Ludovic joined Google in 2007 to drive the Strategic Partnerships team in the UK. He is currently the CEO of Zokem and holds board memberships in several start-up companies. Ludovic is French, and married with two children.
Rob Kommeren joined Philips in 1984. Since 1991 he has been working in the area of improvement and innovation of software development processes. In eighteen years he has gained a broad experience in this area both in and outside Philips. Currently Rob is CEO of the InnoHub in the city of Espoo. The InnoHub is an initiative of Philips and VTT to boost innovation of products and services in Nordic and Baltic countries.
Marco Steinberg is Strategic Design Director at the Finnish Innovation Fund (Sitra). Current projects include Helsinki Design Lab (www.hdl2010.org) and Sitra’s sustainable development challenge in Jätkäsaari, www.low2no.org
