European Institute of Information Technology (EIT ITC) Labs based in Otaniemi is one of five European nodes along with Eindhoven, Paris, Berlin and Stockholm. Aim of the EIT ICT Labs is to turn Europe into a global ICT leader.

Focus of EIT ICT Lab in Otaniemi is Empowering People in the Ubiquitous Digital Society. The specific thematic role in Otaniemi is Smart Spaces.

Key core partners of EIT ICT Labs in Finland are Nokia, Aalto University and VTT Technical Research Center of Finland. In addition, there are a significant number of affiliated partners in Finland including universities, innovation centers and public sector organizations.
