MIKES metrology realises the SI system measurement units in Finland, performs high-level metrological research and develops measuring applications in partnership with industry.

FINAS accredits the competence of laboratories, inspection bodies, certification bodies and experts in special fields, for example environmental verifiers, and assesses the competence of operations in different operative bodies according to regulations of specific requirements. Competence is established on the basis of international standards and consistent procedures.
