What is Helsinki Region Welcome Weeks?
There is a growing number of internationals and internationally-minded people in the Helsinki region. Welcome Weeks is here to open up all the opportunities the region has to offer while bringing the new and existing residents closer together.
The purpose is to get the knowhow - and have fun doing it!
Event description
Targeting the more than 80.000 international professionals, spouses and families, the 10.000 students and the 3.000 international staff at higher education institutions, Helsinki Region Welcome Weeks invites all internationals into the region to become active participants of itsdevelopment into a competitive, safe and attractive place to live.
In 2011 Helsinki Region Welcome Weeks brought together more than 4.500 international residents in events ranging from purely informational to events exposing the hidden and fun sides of our region. Building on last year’s success Helsinki Region Welcome Weeks will again this year bring together all relevant actors sharing the common aim of a genuinely international region.
Welcome Weeks brings the new and existing residents together in Featured Events which include:

* Education Paths - your educational opportunities from day care to lifelong learning!
* Talent Factory - forum bringing together international talent and Finnish employers!
*Entrepreneurship 101 - get started with your own business!
* Learn the Local Lingo - your Finnish and Swedish language learning opportunities!
* Hidden City Race - Come and race for the hidden treasures of our wonderful region!
